Road to the ford can be treacherous, I recommend high clearance... 4x4 isn't a must unless it rains as the 3mi dirt/ gravel road can get steep and curve quite a bit. Great campfire area and you're likely to be alone. Make sure to peek up at the stars!

If you are looking for a remote wilderness road, getting here is a great one. We went to Hawksbill Craig for a great hike and took this road from the north and accidentally found the ford. The north side of the Buffalo has the best camping spot near the road. The road was very narrow at points. You definitely need high clearance. I have a 4x4 stock Ram 2500 and had no problems running in 2 wheel drive only. But it was nice to know I had 4x4 in reserve. Enjoy!
